Sewing Hutch

This is the second piece for my wife’s sewing room. It started out to be a classic hutch (with sides and a back supporting the upper cabinet) but as the design matured it was decided that those middle sections might interfere with laying out fabric on the (lower) top. So, the upper cabinet is hung on a French Cleat and is simply a bookcase with doors. The lower section has 2 three-inch drawers and 2 six-inch drawers over the large doored compartment. This compartment has a large drawer in the bottom used to store sewing machines (and their parts) and large project boxes. Above that is a short shelf for flat things like cutting mats, pin boards and short boxes. The sewing machine table is next!!
